Mary, Neurofeedback I am a registered nurse with many years experience in both the clinical arena and the area of research.

I became aware of Neurofeedback several years ago and was very impressed by the positive impact it can have in peoples lives.

I explored the various systems available and I finally decided that NeurOptimal® was the best Neurofeedback system on the market today.

I am a qualified NeurOptimal® trainer and very enthusiastic about offering Neurofeedback in Maryborough and the entire Wide Bay region.

Testimonial from Kerrie, 30yrs old   Living in Maryborough, married with 3 children.

I have suffered with anxiety for as long as I can remember. In recent years it seems to have gotten worse, I get panic attacks, I have difficulty falling asleep and then staying asleep. I worry a lot, get upset with my partner and kids. I had tried different things over the years which helped a little.

A few weeks ago I discovered Wide bay Neurofeedback. After the first session I had a good night's sleep and my anxiety became a lot less. I've now had six sessions and I feel great.

My sleep is much better and I seem to rest more and Im happier in myself. Ive had no more panic attacks and my anxiety is much less. I spend more time with my kids and I'm more relaxed with them. My partner has noticed the improvement in my mood and how I fly off the handle less.

Mary, who runs Wide Bay Neurofeedback, is great. She was very kind to me and she explained things to me a lot in a way that I understand.

New updated program available which trains the brain at a much deeper level

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback machine

Neurofeedback is a computer-aided training method which works with the persons own brain activity. Through this feedback, the person learns to better self-regulate their brain activity. Many illnesses, disorders or unwanted behaviour patterns are due to dysregulation of brain activity. With Neurofeedback the person can learn to better compensate and to achieve more functionality. It is a simple pain free and non-intrusive process.

Testimonial from Jane, 29yrs old   Suffers with post-traumatic stress.

PST follows things that happened when I was younger. Because of this I have suffered anxiety for most of my life.

Over the last few months my anxiety got to a point where I was not coping and I had to leave work. After I started having Neurofeedback my anxiety started to settle.

My sleeping improved enormously and I worried and fretted less about every-day things, and I started to deal with life a lot better. While I was having Neurofeedback I was also seeing a psychologist and the two together really helped me.

Mary was good. She encouraged me to talk about the problems I was having. She was generous with her time. She was also incredibly supportive and checked in with me after each session. She always made me feel that there was someone on my side.
"The core of NeurOptimal® brain training is all about renormalising the flow and function of the CNS (Brain) so it can return to its intrinsic healthy chaos, and restore its inherent flexibility and resilience."
Dr Valdeane Brown

Your brain possesses the ability to learn new ways and forge new pathways. NeurOptimal® simply trains your brain to do things a little differently.

Testimonial about James, 30yrs old   He has autism and lives in a care home with one other person.

He has had behaviours of concern for some time, but has been getting worse as he got older. The behaviours were so severe at times they interfered with the social activities his carers organised for him..

Sometimes he would self-harm. He would frequently bite into his hand and hold his joints so tight it would cause pressure, resulting in ongoing stiffness and pain in the joint, which was ever present for him.

His parents sought neurofeedback to:
1. make his day to day life more comfortable and enjoyable.

2. allow him to enjoy the full range of activities his carers were providing for him without behavioural episodes that would hinder his and other people's enjoyment of events.
3. make his behaviours easier to manage for James and his carers.

After the second session care staff noted that his episodes were less severe and less frequent, with staff noting sometimes an episode would only last minutes.

After six sessions it was reported that James could self-limit his behaviours and bring them to a stop if he chose to. Twice during a session he started to have a disruptive behaviour but settled quickly and returned to complete the session. On my observation he is calmer in general and, at times, seems to have very positive interaction with his carers. He finds it easier to be at social events and very much enjoys dancing which was often a problem previously due to his inability to tolerate loud noise.

Testimonial about David, 65yrs old   He had a stroke a few months ago.

He was left with a significant weakness down his left side and had lost his speech. His wife had experience with Neurofeedback in the past and they wanted to try it to assist with his rehabilitation..

Neurofeedback has really helped with his recovery. Initially he was very depressed about having the stroke and the limitations afterward.

But his mood changed quite quickly and he became more positive and happier in himself. This has allowed him to be more available at his rehabilitation and to work harder.

It has lifted the lid on some emotional issues which he is dealing with. He is sleeping better most nights and using less medication to help him sleep. Having Neurofeedback has helped his rehabilitation to progress a lot faster.

Fees: $70 per session / $60 concession.
